The drawing you see here is the final destination of a long and troubled path to a cover for a fantasy novel written by a friend of mine, the dearest (and unsatisfiable) Pellegrino Dormiente.
Some of you might remember the first version which was colored with acrylics, or the second one which was supposed to be only a pencilled layout for a digital painting. I think that we've finally made it this time. And now that I look back at the first two attempts, I really feel I've improved a lot in these years.
I hope that you will agree with me.

Made with H, 2B and 4B pencils, cotton buds, white Ecoline and about 6 hours' time on A3 rough bristol board. The different pieces of the drawing have been sketched on separate sheets, scanned, assembled in Photoshop, printed, enlarged 200% and then traced on the board.
