~ FULL VIEW IS ALWAYS BEST ~

:: This is a character of mine that I've drawn before already. But even those who may know her (are there any? ) haven't seen her in such a version yet. She's Avaltan, my official character in our D&D session. Once a barbarian, she's now a chaotic-good paladin, and she's destined to become what you see: a very famous outlaw, with plenty of men at her orders and an even wilder spirit. Maybe she'll have her own story written down on paper, who knows. This drawing, however, could become part of a diptych, since I wanted to make a similar portrait of her despicable half-brother.


:: The drawing came into life from a sketch that turned out good, and then I realized that I could avail myself of this to make my own tutorial about inking. I hope I chose well, because I don't really know if this is a good example. Anyway, apart from the long and certosine (for my natural lack of patience, I mean) work on the inking, it was real fun. Actually, I had also to try some techniques for toning made in traditional media, since I'll probably have to start a work where proper screentones aren't welcome, let alone digital ones. Maybe this piece will be reworked to add further lightning effects, but for the time being I think that it'll stay this way. I feel very satisfied.
